I read the reviews on TripAdvisor before making my reservation and it was everything and more than expected. We were looking for a low key place to stay during our daughter's Juilliard audition and this was the perfect spot! My husband traveled with my daughter and they just loved the "at home feel" of the Inn. Charlie the cat was a wonderful addition to their stay. My daughter and husband commented on how clean the Inn is and they really enjoyed the breakfast and coffee. The Inn was a short subway ride to Manhattan which made for a stress free audition. Thank you for the kind hospitality you extended to my family!

Chelsea Pines is in a killer location near the highline, Chelsea and Greenwich. We walked pretty much everywhere. Friendly hotel with clean and functional rooms. Not glamorous but very nice. No lift so ask for a 2/3 floor room. Long walk up higher than that!!!!!!

Room Tip: Floors 2 and 3

As most reviews will tell, the hospitality of the staff at Chelsea Pines Inn is impeccable. They really set the standard for customer service. They will do anything for you with such a good attitude and vast knowledge of the city.

My two cents about the stairs: you only walk up the stairs about once or twice a day because you will be out in the city as you're not staying in an all inclusive resort all day long, do not worry about your bags they will gladly carry your bags up and down the stairs, and if you have a problem with a few flights of stairs then NYC is probably not the place for you.

The cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding, and the location is great because Chelsea is a nice neighborhood and you are steps away from the subway. Of course, if you're looking for something in Times Square then obviously you would not consider it a good location, but hopefully you have the intellect to understand that.

There is nowhere else you would want to stay in NYC!! Chelsea Pines Inn is quaint, fun and a must have experience. The location is phenomenal – quiet and convenient to anything you want to do. But what makes this place unique is the proprietor – Jay Lesiger. The man is incredible! His knowledge of shows to see (both on and off Broadway), restaurants to enjoy and places to go is beyond belief. Not only can he help you take advantage of all the city has to offer but he can help you get great tickets to shows. He is charming and so enjoyable to visit with - very accommodating and so helpful to make sure your whole New York experience is one you will never forget. There is no one like Jay! He can be your best resource. The facility is pristine and the staff incredibly efficient. The movie theme is something to see and experience. Breakfast is a marvelous spread that helps get you jump started after a night on the town. Everyone, and I mean everyone, at Chelsea Pines Inn was helpful, courteous and professional. You will not be disappointed with your stay at Chelsea Pines Inn! It makes GREAT even better!

Room Tip: If you stay in the back it will be amazingly quiet and the view of the courtyard is serene.

We stayed for a long weekend, our first trip to New York together & were amazed at how great the location is. Just over the road from the Meat Packing, Greenwich Village & Chelsea Market. The High line is just at the end of the road too - brilliant. Jay the owner was very welcoming & gave us lots of tips about where to go / eat / drink - the rest of the team were equally helpful & even when I checked in online for our flight home, someone was at the reception desk to give me my boarding cards - AT 4AM!!!
Breakfast was very good, casual & plenty of choice - the fresh daily bread was a real treat & you could help yourself to as much as you wanted.
The rooms were quirky, we were in 206 overlooking the garden at the back - it was very quiet. We both slept well & the extras in the room & bathroom were very good. We highly recommend staying here, if you don't want a "corporate" experience & just want to feel like a New Yorker, rather than a tourist. Excellent - were are going back!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are obviously quieter, but if you want to hear the noises NY, stay in the front.

My husband and I stayed at the Chelsea Pines Inn for a few days at the beginning of February and our experience with them was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, they were really helpful, friendly and extremely welcoming. The hotel itself is situated in a very convenient location in Chelsea which is not too far from the major attractions. There is also a subway stop a few yards away and Chelsea itself is a nice area to stay as there is a market to visit as well as lots of nice boutique shops and art galleries. There is also the High Line which is located not too far from the hotel and allows you to get some nice views of the area.

Each room is decorated differently and given a different film star theme which is a nice and quirky touch. The beds are comfortable and the rooms provide everything you need. There is no hairdryer in the room but they happily provide this for you at the reception desk. The breakfast is great too and there is a lot of variety provided. The drinks are available to you for use all day long as well as some nibbles like fruit and cakes.

The staff are extremely friendly and they really went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed your stay. We visited New York as it was a 30th birthday present from my husband and, once they learned of this, they pleasantly surprised me by leaving a lovely bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates in our room. It was such a lovely gesture and, even on the day before we were due to leave, we were left another little gift as a thank you for staying with them. When we first arrived, not only were we greeted with a lovely smile but we were also given some information leaflets which included a map of New York, a list of the best restaurants in the area and also a leaflet about the local area and where all the best boutiques were. They were very good at advising you on the best places to eat and they would even make the reservations for you. You could ask them anything and they would try their best to help you in any way possible.

We really enjoyed our stay with them and would not hesitate to recommend them. They really do tick all the boxes. We are already planning our next trip to New York and we definitely know who we will be staying with!

Ema and Steven :)
