“Clean, comfortable and convenient boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

We stayed here for five nights at the end of March/beginning of April. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The fact that this hotel is located on a small street in the financial district means that you can walk outside in the morning without a crush of people immediately upon you. However, it is very easy to walk to Broadway, Century 21or any of the subway lines (in less than five minutes) to experience the liveliness of the city you came for.

The rooms are very modern and clean. The bed is super comfortable and the bathrooms are really nice. The hotel is very welcoming and stylish. You must swipe your room card to use the elevator to which is a nice security feature.

We arrived early in the day and the hotel held our bags (free of charge -- I have been charged in NYC for this before up to $5 per bag!). The staff was always very helpful.

There is a daily charge for internet access in the rooms but super fast Wifi is free in the lobby.

The hotel in general is very peaceful, and being away from any major tourist attractions meant the streets were generally quiet at night. The only complaint we would have is that the walls are relatively thin. We could hear the guest in the next room coughing (constantly) and/or playing music for two of the days that we were there. They generally quieted down by 11pm -- that or we were so tired we just drifted off. : )

We would recommend staying here. Having visited NYC several times, the biggest "chore" or stress of the trip is finding a hotel and then hoping it stands up to what it said online. The Gild Hall delivered.

Great place. Very clean, cute and with a modern antiquy look. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Made me feel like I was a VIP. The room was perfect, great bathroom. I slept like a baby, the most comfortable bed and pillow that I've ever slept on besides my own bed.

The Gild Hall is a stylish hotel with an exceptional service, a great location, and an authentic Italian restaurant!! A home run combination! The suites are so nice that we wanted to stay extra time.
We look forward to visiting again soon.

We stayed in the king suite the night of our wedding at nearby Battery Gardens. It was lovely! The room was great, a tad sparsely decorated given how quirky the hotel's lobby decor is, but it was very, very comfortable and stylish. The living room was the perfect gathering spot for my husband and his 5 groomsmen + dad. There's also a really convenient/spacious "bar" area right off of the "living room" that had a separate bar sink, snacks, plenty of counter space, lots of full sized bottles of booze (altho we did not dip into those, god knows what they charge), and glassware. The bathroom is gorgeous and very spacious and the fuzzy flip flops were fabulous after a night of dancing.

My and my two teenage boys, just came home from a nice vacation i NYC, staying at Gild Hall hotel. Nice and freindly staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Two squares from ground zero, close to metro. Convenient in all matters.

We just got back from a week long trip to NYC, for both business and pleasure. Gild Hall was recommended by the conference I was attending just a few minutes walk from the hotel. I found their rates to be comparable to most of the 2-3 star hotels I researched, but I'm not sure what sort of discount was given for being referred. However, half of the nights were to be paid for by me, and Gild Hall agreed to extend the discount even though the business part of the trip was only 2 nights. The hotel staff was super helpful, friendly, and knowledgable. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated - super chic and classy. The rooms are small, but all hotel rooms in NYC are small. The bed was average, but the cleanliness was superior. I had a great experience, and will definitely look to book there on my next trip!

My family & I just finished an extended stay at Gild Hall, following Hurricane Sandy. It was, bar none, the best experience we have ever had at any hotel, including domestic & international. The staff is exceptional: David Finch and the entire Gild Hall crew (alphabetically: Brian, Caitlin, Jeanette, Khloe, Max, Perri, Randy, Robert, Sara, & Tomo) were perfectly attuned to our every need. Everyone was unfailingly polite, helpful & friendly. In our 3 months of residence, we never once had any issue with the service of the hotel. It really seemed as though everyone we got to know who works there was a graduate of the top Hospitality Programs in the world. As for the accommodations & accoutrements themselves, on a sybaritic level, who doesn't love Frette bathrobes & Sferra sheets? I am still dreaming about the bed- it was ridiculous how comfortable it was. The rooms are beautifully appointed with wood & leather furniture. Room service is fantastic & rapid; housekeeping & maintenance on-the-ball & thoroughly professional. It's a very cool place to be, & one that I will recommend to anyone visiting NYC.

Room Tip: Higher floors tend to be quieter. King Suites are ideal if extra room is desired.

It was our pleasure to extend our service and our commitment to the people who were facing extreme challenges in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
