Myself and daughter stayed at The New Yorker for 4 nights. We booked a 2 double deluxe room which was a great size, beds and pillows were comfy. Hotel was easy to reach by LIRR from JFK airport. Penn Station is within walking distance to hotel.

Our only complaints were
No in room safe to leave passports etc.

Bath towels are on the small size (i'm a UK 12 - so not huge) but they only just went round me, would have been nice to have large fluffy towels to wrap up in after a long day of sightseeing,

Only mirror in the room (except bathroom) was by the entrance door to room. There was no mirror in the room by the desk and chair area. So do do our hair etc each morning you had to sit on the floor by the entrance door, not ideal.

A good location for exploring New York, walking distance to Macey's, Times Square and Empire State Building and handy for Penn Station. Super lobby, very clean and comfortable room with a good view. Wouldn't it be great if New Yorkers had their vehicle horns confiscated so we poor tourists could have undisturbed sleep?

Room Tip: We had a corner room so double the view. Although we were on the 29th floor we could still hear horns and sirens all night but that's not the hotel's fault.

My partner and I stayed here on our first trip to New York. We checked-in to our room only to find that the people in the adjoining room had access to a balcony, from where they could see into our bathroom. We felt very uncomfortable with this so I spoke to Mohammed at the check-in desk and he was so helpful. He apologised and sorted this out without fuss or embarrassment. We were moved to a fantastic room on the 35th floor which made our holiday and our stay at the hotel really special. Other lobby staff were also very helpful and polite.

This is an older hotel, an icon, which I liked however, some areas could be freshened. The bathrooms were great but were let down by cheaply painted tiles on the walls (often scratched) which takes away from the glamorous expectations you want in a good hotel. Water pressure was excellent.

The location is great, close enough to Times Sq area, and the subway at your doorstep meant nothing in this city was out of reach.
