1st time at The New Yorker and we'd definitely go back. Staff at reception were excellent. Mohammed was most helpful and gave us a lovely room with a view which we weren't expecting. The rooms are small but we weren't travelling to New York to sit in a hotel room. They were spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Visited the 'Tick Tock Diner' and 'Coopers Tavern' on our first evening but weren't impressed with either but there are loads of other lovely eating places nearby (especially on ninth avenue). The hotel is in an excellent location for sightseeing, shopping, transport etc.

I have always wanted to go to New York and can safely say that this hotel made it a special stay, with special thanks to Angel. I had read reviews about small dated rooms and felt a bit uneasy about what to expect, however we were given a lovely room with an amazing view of the Empire State building. I was in disbelief when I opened the curtains the next morning to such a fantastic view (see my photos). It was my birthday a few days before my arrival so the trip was partially to tie in with this. My sister requested a room on a high floor with a nice view, which we were given. Reading other reviews, it shows that the staff will go that extra mile for guests when it comes to special occasions. In addition to visiting the usual attractions, I highly recommend going on a Liberty Helicopter flight across the city - it is a once in a lifetime opportunity with breathtaking views of the city. We also went on a twilight cruise with Circleline Cruises which was amazing as you could see the sunset across the city and the skyline gradually light up as it got dark. Get a New York Pass so you can visit all the attractions including trips like this! Times Square at night is amazing, photos cannot justify how in awe you feel stood in the middle of it all when lit up. We also went to a Yankees game which the lady on the attractions/guest services desk arranged for us, she was really helpful. Everyone in the city was so friendly and helpful, from the waitresses to shop assistants, to random bypassers who stopped to help if you seemed lost. Trying to fit everything into 3 days was a challenge and we didn't manage to cram it all in, however I will most definitely be coming back to the New Yorker in the future and I will be requesting the same room on the 36th floor. I never write reviews so I seriously recommend staying here if you are after a comfy bed, nice clean room, great customer service and a top location. I love NYC! Thank you Angel!

I stayed in a few hotels in New York during my recent trip - with the New Yorker being the cheapest. However - the price did not correlate in poor service, rooms and cleanliness. It felt incredible staying in a restored 1930's hotel. A real step back in time. Cosy rooms house comfortable beds manifesting in great sleep quality. Standing under the awe inspiring chandelier culminates in great photo opportunities. The location is great - not far from Penn Station and Madison Sqaure Gardens. I look forward to staying here again.

Hotel is in a great location. Close to several metro stops. Nice lobby which is staffed with security, so that no one can get access to elevators unless they have a key! Quick check in and check out. Great restaurants close by.

I stay in NYC for business every other week. The New Yorker is convenient, reasonable, and easy to commute to. Angel and Mohammad at the front desk are always friendly and assist with a smile. I typically stay in a view room, use the weight room.
