We stayed here with our 3 year old daughter in September this year for 10 nights and Its a great place to base yourself for a lengthy NYC stay. It's in a great part of the upper west side with nice supermarkets around the corner and the rooms have small kitchens which is perfect when you have little ones as you don't have to eat out each night. The breakfast included at the hotel is nice enough though basic and the rooms are very spacious if you go for the superior 1 bedrooms like we did. My wife's parents stayed for 9 nights as well in a studio across the hall and that room was a great size too. Our whole family would highly recommend this place and we will be back again next year.

Room Tip: We stayed on flor 11 last year and floor 12 this year and both were great and quieter than the lower floors.

We enjoyed our stay in a 12th floor queen suite. Although not huge, the suite appeared to have been recently renovated: freshly painted, re-carpeted, and re-wallpapered. Rooms were clean and bright. Artificial lighting: Excellent. Flat screen TV in both the bedroom and in the living room/dining room, where there was a love seat, easy chair, coffee table, and a small dinette set. Small kitchenette alcove with microwave, coffee pot, sink, and refrigerator. A safe was located in the large walk-in closet in the bedroom. The biggest drawback was the tiny, tiny bathroom: Excluding the bath/shower, approximately 4' x 4'. Water pressure in bathroom: Good. Laundry drying cord over the tub. Mirrors on three of the walls gave the illusion that the bathroom was larger. Free WiFi. Complimentary continental breakfast was so-so. Dining room was too small for the hotel. We had to take our breakfast back to our room.

Several markets within 3-4 blocks: Trader Joe's, Fairview, Citalla (gourmet), and Zabar's (gourmet). Dry cleaners next door. Hotel was a couple of blocks from the Beacon Theater. Four blocks to the over-rated Gray's Papaya (hot dogs not as good as Nathan's) Other businesses on the walk south toward the subway include Barney's, North Face, Loehmann's and Urban Outfitters. Lincoln Center a 10 block walk away. At 79th and Amsterdam is Nice-Matin, an expensive but good French restaurant. Banks nearby. Tip: Duane Reade Drugstores have Chase ATMs.

Small clean rooms, beds and pillows a little too soft for my liking. Tiny kitchen with little crockery or cutlery in stock. Great location with lots of shopping, some theatre nearby and plenty of very good eating places. Staff friendly and helpful and good access to PC's - free half hour sessions. A good breakfast is included, it gets very busy and you might end up sharing a table with someone. Over all a good experience, but with four of us in a small space, we needed to stay out and about, which is fine because your in NYC for the experience, not the hotel room.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite which i would recommend as i had heard all hotel rooms in New York are tiny we thought an additional living room would give us that extra bit of space. The suite was really big, with decent sized bedroom & lounge with the added bonus of a kitchenette (kettle handy for making cups of tea & fridge for storing cold drinks)
The hotel itself was great, the staff were really friendly & check in was excellent. The hotel has a gym/excercise room which has all the equipment one may need, a computer room (handy for printing boarding passes) they only charge $1 for printing, the hotel also has free wifi.
A complemetary breakfast is served daily (with fresh waffles made a couple of times each week) the breakfast room is tiny though so expect to share a table & if you get there at peak time expect to have to wait for a table! The breakfast itself is good - bagels, pastries, toast, cereals, yoghurt & fruit are always on offer with a good selection of teas of coffee.
The rooms are good, cleaned daily and all with air conditiing & a safe in the room. This is a fairly old hotel though so dont expect modern rooms, they are furnished in keeping with the building but are clean, comfortable & safe.
The hotel is in a great location near shops & bars and only a block away from the nearest subway station. The area itself is fine, we walked around at night & felt perfectly safe.
I would definitely stay there again.

You can't get a bettre location - upper west side, next to Broadway and half way between Central Park and Riverside Park. 3 blocks from the Subway, plenty of greta stores and restaurants around. The hotel was packed so we had to stand in line for breakfast - not fun... The room was clean but small, even for NYC stabdards. Overall - good value for a family trip.
