My girlfriend and I decided to visit New York for three days during our spring break, so we searched online for decent hotel deals. We compared a fair number of hotels/inns/motels, did plenty of research, and we found that Hilton Garden Inn on W 35th had many positive reviews, and they didn't disappoint.
The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, with our bed made every day we were there, and our bathroom was stocked with fresh and neatly folded towels. There was also free printing in the first floor office, so my girlfriend and I took advantage of printing out lots of directions to restaurants/shops we wanted to visit. Also, the Metro is legitimately across the street from the hotel, and on the day it was really nice, we found that it was a mere 10-15 minute walk to Times Square.
Great location, friendly staff, very clean hotel, comfortable bed and pillows, with a walk-in shower to boot, comfortable room (it had decent decor), decent price (we went off-season), and it was overall a positive experience.
The only downside was the size of the room, which was a little on the small side (as I'd expect plenty NY hotel rooms to be), but it didn't detract at all from my stay.More
