Had to make a stop here while in NYC. Read the reviews & friends that live here swear by it. Walked right up on a Thursday night with a few people in line....they've got 2 carts across the intersection from each other. Ordered the combo Gyro & Chicken with rice, asked for spicy sauce. My word, it was awesome & hit the spot, for $6 cash you cannot beat this! Be sure to give it a try....you'll love it too! I can taste it now & will be back again when I visit!

There is a lot of food carts, but make sure you look for the one on corner of 53rd & 6th it will be the one with longer lines, but line moves fast have your money ready and watch out for the red sauce, very very hot, don't worry they will give you the sauces on side. It will be a lot of food for 6 bucks if you want you can share 1 and just ask for extra plate.

They were next to my hotel. I saw a very big queue in front of their car. I read review here and tried it. It was very good, specially the sauce.

At least around 53rd & 6th ave area by Hilton Hotel. They reminded me of Starbucks in some cities where one will find multiple stores at the same intersection.

Apparently there must be a demand for their food, and for a good reason, since it is so damn cheap. We paid more on tips at restaurants sometimes than the $6 for this meal, and this is a full meal. So much that I just cant see how many people can finish the roughly 8" size disposable round tin container piled with shredded chicken (kind of like pulled pork consistency), onions and peppers (if you like), rice and shredded lettuce.

What made this popular dish special are their sauces (white one is extremely popular, and red one which is not for the faint of heart.) I usually can eat quite hot, but this red sauce apparently contained spices from India that really registered high up on the Scoville scale.

On this particular night there were at least 5 carts right on the same block around Hilton (4 with guys wearing those bright yellow HALAL GUYS hoodies, one not--just a copycat). Judging from the people milling around eating the same dish mostly, including several cabbies parking illegally doing the same, one can conclude this should be a NEW YORK thing to do at least once. Street food at its best.

Easy to find, long line up that moves quick.
For 6$, chicken over rice, can't go wrong.
Highly recommend, quality for price A+

We were in NY for 5 days, and this was the best street food we ate, hand down.
