The staff was extremely nice and helpful.

Hotel room was very nice and spacious for a NYC hotel room. Bathrooms are small and amenities were sparse.

The rooftop bar- wich was written up- was closed when we were there for a private event.

Apparently, there is a forthcoming remodeling of the property.

Stay was very nice. Good location, great deli across the street. Because they're still renovating the room we had was not done and the mattress was anywhere near to the Marriott quality we've come to expect so I hope that gets rectified soon. Also, minor detail but seriously... non-dairy coffee creamer??? No thanks! Expresso machines in the room which is great if you like expresso. We do not... Valet parking is available at the hotel and $49p/d - reasonable for NYC standards. Staff was very helpful.

This hotel only became part of Marriott's Vacation Club in March. As a former New Yorker we were thrilled to be able to spend a week in New York as part of the use of our Marriott Timeshares. We have stayed twice. We understand that since Marriott took over what was the Stand Hotel it is different than other vacation resorts which are basically villas anywhere from studios to three bedrooms. We are owners of the Custom House in Boston and though those are smaller they are at least a one bedroom and they have many activities typical to all Marriott Timeshare. We understand that Marriott will start remodeling in early winter room by room. The staff is extremely nice and helpful and I am sure there will be many changes to come to make it is more like the vacation experience owners expect. We were told that they are using the Custom House as a model and the Custom House is the best of all the timeshare resort we have stayed at. The location is great and it like staying at any hotel in NYC right now. Marriott Vacation owners should give this concept time to develop. It has been my experience as an owner that Marriott keeps improving their products.

We have been Marriott owners for many years and always stay at marriotts. We were so excited to learn of a Marriott property in NYC that was a destination property.
The checkin was fine. Our room had a beautiful view. Small but nice. The amenities at the hotel were sub standard. It was our 41st wedding anniversary, a piece of info that was part of our reservation. For the first time there was no acknowledgement of this milestone. We always stay at a Marriott for our anniversary and this was a first. We stopped for a drink on our first evening before going out to dinner and after a wait we were served. The bartender was difficult to understand. Two gentlemen at the bar hadn't finished their drinks and asked if they could take them to their room...no, they didn't have very many glasses! Wow! The second evening we returned from the theater at 10. The downstairs bar had patrons but was closed. We went to the roof bar and they only had a small amount of zambuca left. They were going to get some from the other bar....after a period of time that hadn't happened. There was a problem because it was going to mix up their inventory. They were going to try to get enough for two drinks. We told them to cancel our check. Hopefully this will happen. We wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Although this is advertised as a vacation club, I agree with a previous reviewer. It is a very nice hotel, but not what I also expect from a vacation club. As a 28 year owner and member of Marriott's Vacation Club, I expected more for what it cost me in destination points to stay here for 2 nights. It was 1700 destination points for a two night stay. The day we arrived, the room we had booked would have cost us $225 per night. A great value in cash, but not in destination points. No adjustments were offered. The manager was nice enough to upgrade us to a larger room with a small balcony and view of the Empire State Building. Parking is $49 per day. Seems like that should also been included for what we paid.
Staff was excellent and very helpful. Hotel room was very nice and spacious for a NYC hotel room. Bathrooms are small. We were told that rooms renovations would be starting in January.
Roof top bar offers a beautiful view of the city and we enjoyed it on a warm summer evening. Drinks were very pricey but expected in New York.
We enjoyed our stay but wish Marriott owners were given more of what we have come to expect from a vacation club.
