“Decent”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

Prices were very affordable for a fairly upscale restaurant in NYC. Soups weren't very good, but the entrees made up for it for sure. Overall, this is a great place for a nice meal without singing your pocket. Plus, it's BYOB.

“Good Food and Extraordinary Value”
Reviewed March 31, 2012

Five of us ate at Catch de Fish last week before going to the nearby Vineyard Theatre. As it happened there was an early bird special until 7:00 p.m.. A four-course dinner is about $15.00; there is also an a la carte menu.

The cuisine is vaguely Asian, with and emphasis on (guess what ?) fish, but not exclusively so. The room is half below grade, but well lit. It's comfortable enough, and very casual: scarred wooden tables, unupholstered chairs. Service was attentive and accurate.

The food was substantail and well-prepared. On the four-course early -bird there's a choice of three soups, three or four appetizers served with salad, and mains. Your correspondent ordered the sashimi tuna burger, a totally weird prep of thinly sliced barely seared tuna over salad with feta cheese scattered on top, and a hamburger bun on the side. It was delicious.

The bill for five including a bottle of wine was about $120. Can't beat that.

“Delicious and great value -- a find”
Reviewed March 23, 2012

The name is dreadful, and from the outside Catch de Fish looks like a not-very-preposessing bar. But once inside, this Thai fusion place is an excellent value option with excellent food. We went quite early and had the "early bird special." I had the tangy coconut and mushroom soup (very flavoursome and fresh, with coriander); the chicken skewer and a salad with peanut dressing (standard, but very tasty); and the crabmeat and avocado salad -- also with well-separated and fresh flavours. We shared an alarmingly green pandan creme brulee dessert, but it was tasty too. All that plus a glass of wine each for $50. Fantastic food and a fantastic deal! Fast and charming service

“Yum Yum Yum!”
Reviewed November 15, 2011

I am apprehensive about leaving this review because if this restaurant gets too popular I will never be able to get a table. The food and service are great, I especially like the cream of carrot soup. Don't let the name throw you off, there is meat on the menu. It's a little place tucked away on the corner that is easy to miss. The Early Bird specials are ideal and I always leave satisfied. I've celebrated two birthdays here and look forward to doing so again.
