This was near our hotel we stayed in. We had dinner here and drinks and chocolate. It's expensive but the chocolate martinis were delicious.

Over priced drinks were ok because the drinks were GOOD. However, a waitress spilled a chocolate martini on my shirt and new pants while waiting for the restroom. She gave me only a napkin and club soda! Not even an offer for a complimentary drink or to take care of the cleaning. It was truly awful service after that point

We went to Ayza based on recommendations from various online sources. While quite small, the décor is nice and modern, and the place is very clean. There is also an outdoor seating area that would likely have a bit more elbow room.

The menu is quite varied, and there is a good wine list. We started with a couple of really good salads, and then had the cheese and meat plate, which gives a choice of some number of cheeses and meats (i.e. build your own). The cheeses were very good, and there was a variety to suit most foodies. The meats were also good, and the whole thing was served on a platter with capers and cubes of fruit jelly, along with a basket of various kinds of crostini. The jelly with cheese was a really great combination, and the salad, cheese and meat was more than enough for dinner. We finished with some rather good truffles that went really well with the wine.

The service was quite good - very attentive (not to the point of annoying), and polite. We were given a complimentary sake cup of mulled wine to start, and our waiter checked back with us periodically to make sure everything was OK. Others have complained about the prices, but it really wasn't that bad for New York (and is on par with other major cities), especially considering the quality of the food and the service.

Very small, but great atmosphere inside. Food was ok, but nothing overly special. A good plce to grab a glass of wine after work, although I won't go out of my way to go back.

Had lunch...a nice charcuterie with soup and salad. Glass of bubbly and an assortment of chocolates. Diesn't get any better than this, will return on another trip. Recommended for a nice lunch if you are in midtown!
