Be prepared for tiny, in not complaining as I didn’t do my homework well enough
Two travellers with big suitcases was just too much for this little room
After the initial shock of arriving to a street full of night clubbers (we didn’t hear a sound from our room ) to the tiny room we saw the funny side of things
The Jane is in a fabulous spot with a great roof bar looking across the Hudson River
We also had a bit of excitement one night when the fire alarm went off 3 fire engines and all, fortunately a false alarm
This is a very old but charming place to stay but would stay in the captains cabin next time

Hi Car,
It's good to hear that you really enjoyed or style, amenities, and the Jane Hotel locale! We are happy to store guests' bags to help maximize the space in their room. I agree that you'll really like our Captain's Cabin with the Private Bathroom for more space and a Full, Queen or King sized bed. Whenever there is anything we might make your stay even more comfortable, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Front Desk for immediate assistance. The Desk can be reached at any time by dialing 0 from the room.
We look forward to seeing you again, and showing you how much fun a Captain's Cabin can be!
Cheers,
Jamie

They've got these tiny "sailor" rooms for a very reasonable price. Great if you're in town for a couple of nights, don't want to spend $$$$, and really just need a place to crash. These rooms do not have their own bathrooms, so you've got to go down the hall for that, and the place has a bit of a worn feeling to it (fix the loose tiles in the bathrooms!), but otherwise it's got charm and a great location.

Room tip: If you want to stay here and have your own bathroom, get a "captain's" room. It's more like a typical hotel room.

My daughter and I traveled to NY for fun and a yoga workshop and we loved our stay. We had the double bunk bed room type and it was tiny but clean and comfortable. The shared bathrooms were spotless, stocked and adequate for guests. The location was stellar. Ten minute walk to the subway, surrounded by great shops and food. Super close to the High Line. And across the street from Hudson Park The building is amazing, historical and just super neat. The staff was fantastic. Will return! My new favorite place in NYC.

This cute little hotel is wonderful. So much character and good value, small room did us just fine and shared bathroom was no issue, powerful showers. May was quite hot but we were fine. Water in the rooms. Close to the hi line and Chelsea market it was perfect for food and places to stroll. Right on the Hudson River the breeze especially on an evening was lovely. The club on a weekend in the basement never bothered us. Few drinks people in the corridor one night but not too bad. Beautiful base for our busy days and evenings seeing the city

My husband and I spent two nights here. We didn't mind the tiny bunk-bed room (we understood what we were booking) or the shared bathrooms (though there aren't quite enough stalls for all the rooms on our floor). Those we expected. But I strongly recommend against staying here in the winter, because the heating system is so overpowering that you have to run the air conditioner all night just too keep from suffocating and there's nothing the staff can do to fix it (we called down and asked). And, the wifi almost never worked during our stay and was made even more difficult by not being able to get good cell phone reception anywhere in the hotel. With a better HVAC system and reliable wifi, I think this hotel would be quite charming (and it is a good location, though a long walk to the 14th Street station). But I would not stay here again or recommend it.

Hi Jamie,
I'm so terribly sorry for the discomfort you describe. Due to the age and structure of our beloved, historic, Land Mark building, we are on a one pipe heating system that affects every room differently. As guests stay with us, we get better at matching them to rooms, but guests can also help personalize the temperature by opening the window or running the air conditioner as needed. We have added your room preferences to our notes; thank you for helping us to get to know you better.
Your comments have been forwarded to our Director of Engineering who is checking over the system to make sure the wifi is running in your area of the hotel to expectation. Whenever there is anything we might offer to make your stay more comfortable, please don't hesitate to reach out to the Front Desk for immediate assistance. The Desk can be reached at any time by dialing 0 from the room. The next time you are interested in visiting New York, please reach out to me directly. With this conversation, I'm sure we can find the right room for you and I very much look forward to assisting you personally.
Wishing Safe Travels,
Jamie
