The meat[acking district has morphed to a whole new industry. Who would have thought thast this place that was once a thriving yet dirty and dank looking area would some day become a tourist attraction and home to Saturday night parties and events. It has.

Very cool seeing the huge stretch limos pull up and the pretty people snake out on weekend nights

This is a place to go out. Very high tech music. Fashionable people and rich people. Best Clubs are the One Oak and Tenjune. I personally like life music better but once in a while it is nice to go to meat packing. I also like the Le Bain bar there.

Just a great find. Style, coolness and razor edged. This district has it all. Great place to spend a weekend away.

This is a great area to visit. Full of shops & great restaurants. There's just a 'cool" factor in the area. Fun! Great people watching. Go to STK, Catch, Morimotos, fig & Olive and many more.

The meatpacking district is host to many of New York’s best nightclubs and lounges. If you are looking for an exciting night out and want to mix amongst Manhattan’s elite, than the Meatpacking district is for you.
While the Meatpacking district has many attractions, such as Highline Park, The Standard Hotel and upscale Fashion boutiques, where the neighborhood really shines is in its nightlife offerings. At around 12, the Meatpacking District transforms into a playground for Manhattan’s elite.
Most of the cities exclusive clubs are located in the district. If you want to experience the absolute top of what nightlife has to offer, I recommend taking a look at one of these places: Provocateur, Avenue, 1Oak, PHD, Le Bain, The Boom Boom Room or SL.
Keep in mind that many of these places can be difficult to get into. Looking your best, coming with a small fashionable group, and calling ahead can all help you get in.
