The size, scope and style of this library has to be seen to be believed, it is not just about reading books, this is the storage of history in a very unique environment, a must see.

Go inside and admire. The third floor is where are the reading rooms. Relax, don't talk loud, sit down and breathe culture.

What a beautiful public library. We visited by ourselves and it was ok. A big christmas tree was in the hall. Go and visit it's simply awesome!

This is a beautiful building, both inside and out and is a must see when in NYC. We have visited several times during our different visits to the city. The staircase featured in the first SATC movie is nice to see too!

I have visited NYC more than a dozen times. I had NEVER visited the library until this visit. It is SO amazing that I ended up visiting it THREE times in five days. Do not miss the ever-changing exhibits, the art collections, the many artifacts, and many hidden gems in this building. A female worker in the circulation department on the third floor gave a brief, but helpful, explanation of many of the building's attributes. She was from Ireland and was FANTASTIC! Also, many guided tours are available throughout the day. Remember, in a very expensive city, all of this is FREE!!! Do Not Miss like I had missed for years!
