Beautiful building and worth a stop-in if you are in the neighborhood. You don't need to plan to spend a lot of time here, but the frescos in the upstairs lobby are definitely worth seeing.

This Library is greatly under-rated! It is beautiful to walk around, has a brilliant exhibition which is really interesting and it's free!
Spend and hour or two here and you will be pleased! We have advised all our visitors here to spend some time here, and they all says it was a memorable part of their trip.

What can I say? The New York Public Library is my go-to spot each and every visit. There are always wonderful exhibits and displays, and the gift shop is amazing. A quiet sanctuary in a busy city. Mary Cassatt prints there now are a must see!

This is not like visiting your average public library! The building at 5th Ave and 42nd Street is historical, including the iconic lion statues and the spaces inside are amazing. But, beyond that, there were special exhibits. The one I most loved was the ABC of Children's literature. Fabulous history of children's literature and great information about some of those stories we hold most dear. Amazing exhibit.

This is a point of interest if you are into history. My daughter is a library geek and wanted to go. My niece, daughter husband and self found it to be a unique place the art is stunning and the ceiling is amazing and breath taking.lots of history and info we did the tour and the tour guide are great. A must see in new York.
