“Once upon a time”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

This was my favorite place as a child, reading between the lions. I miss the card catalog room with cards (now replaced with computer terminals). But it is still a place where a child can be introduced to the joy of catching up with where humanity has been and is heading. The only downside is the ever falling standards of the decorum: it is not unusual to find the "homeless" squatting or the staff telling you in no uncertain terms to do the same. Shame.

“If reading is a must”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

What most impressed me was the poems written on nearby sidewalk. Before reaching the building itself, there is plenty of good reading spread on the way ...just read the sidewalk..

“Wonderful”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

This library is magnificent. We spent a couple of hours just wandering and checking out the architecture and the collections. There are wonderful paintings and and the structure of the building is amazing. I'd love to spend a few days getting to know this library.

“Beautiful building, ahead of its time”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

This building itself is just beautiful even if you don't step inside. The reading rooms upstairs look like something from inside a palace or cathedral. The call system for requesting books from the stacks below was way ahead of it's time. Take the time to check this place out.

“Love their exhibits”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

They have unique free exhibits that change. A must-see while in town...it's easy to walk around and take a tour. Makes one want to live there so they can use it frequently.
