As you enter the museum, you're instantly amazed, even through looking out the Windows to the outside of the building. Huge amount of rooms to go in and look around, also history about the library and a room dedicated to 'lunch'.

A huge building whose exterior proclaims it to be an important building in an important city. The layout inside is again on a grand scale and typical 19th century European in style. Wonderfully -designed reading rooms and wonderful also to see so many people busy in the pursuit of knowledge.

Don't just look from the outside. GO IN, it's free and it's beautiful!! The architecture like everything else in NY is amazing. The size of the library itself is awe inspiring and the public access is excellent. You can also use the internet there if needed and print documents as well.

The large beautiful rooms. The lions sitting on the stair out front. I felt smarter just walking in. A great place to stop for peace and quiet.

In addition to seeing a beautiful building with a magnificent reading room as long as the building itself, the Library has one area providing the history of the institution and its construction, plus different exhibitions throughout the year. We saw one on Lunch in New York - the lunch counters in the 1950s!
