“Predictable Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

As we all know a hotel stay for a family of four in New York will set you back thousands. So, you want to know you're getting the most bang for your dollar leaving some to use at all of those sights you are wanting to see.

We always know what to expect with Hampton Inn hotels - we get a great, clean room and breakfast each day. The Empire State location is actually great because you are just 7 blocks South of Times Square (North/South blocks are shorter) and literally around the corner from the Empire State Building.

To add to the convenience, there is a Q,N, and R subway entrance almost right out in front of the hotel. This line will take you to a lot of the hot spots or go through stations where you can transfer.

Once again the Hilton brand didn't let us down and we got a lot of value from this hotel. Enjoy!

We were in the city for several days & wanted to be close to a friend's home. It was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping was very accommodating and friendly. We had to call down to have our safe reset and our TV connection re-established and the staff member was up in minutes to remedy the situation. I would stay here again.

A pity about the elevator but can't complain about anything else. Ask to stay on first few floors so you can use the stairs. We stayed on the 20th so we weren't really keen on hiking that far up to our room...I did it once and that was enough. We had a nice view of empire state building, nice room, good breakfast and service.

Our experience was excellent from arrival to departure! We highly recommend this hotel. Fast and efficient check-in and check-out process. While there our TV did not work, call placed to front desk, staff member arrived and fixed the issue all within 10 minutes of our initial call.

We were travelling with a group of teenagers with lots of bags. The staff was incredibly helpful and hospitable. The rooms were perfectly clean, breakfast was great, and the location couldn't be better, right in the heart of Manhattan, easy walking distance to Times Square, Theater district and much more!

Stayed at this hotel two years ago over Christmas and was much more impressed than this time around. It's a nice enough hotel, but the rooms are extremely small and there are only two elevators, which is a real problem. You can wait ten minutes to get on an elevator, which is really unacceptable. Also, last time we took advantage of the free breakfast, but this time, the crowd was so incredibly large, that it was too unpleasant, besides there was never enough food. The location is good in that it's centrally located and across the street from Macy's. However, Herald Square is the name of the little parklike area right outside Macys and it is full of homeless people that apparently sleep there. That's a little depressing to see everyday.

Room Tip: I would recommend staying on a lower floor, so you can utilize the stairs instead of having to wait...

The Hampton Inn Manhattan-35th St/Empire State Building was a great location and value. Property is very nice located 200 feet from Subway Station. The following staff was great: Clayton, Daymar, Cathy, & Maria. They gave you good service with a smile on their face every day. Thank you, Tommy
