This hotel was in a perfect location for sightseeing, but you were a block or so out of the noise and traffic. Easy to get to all the sight we wanted to see. The dubl, decker bus was wonderful. The breakfast was great every morning and that was a money and time saver for us. You are so near the Theater district and the ticket office for the discount tickets. Make sore you leave enough time for you're cab ride to the airport, the traffic is horrendous!!!!

Room Tip: This hotel only had 6 rooms on our floor. It was quiet and small but we were not there much. If you...

Stayed here 10/7/12. I read the all the reviews about how small the rooms were. I was disappointed to see that my wife and I were unable to ballroom dance during our stay. With that said, we settled for a clean room that we were able to walk around in and had a comfortable nights sleep. The staff at the hotel were extremely pleasant and helpful. We weren't able to check in early at 11. We weren't disappointed since the web site clearly said check-in was at 4. The staff quickly offered to store our bags. We went and explored the city and watched our Steelers beat the Eagles at a local Irish/Steelers pub(that's a different review). Our room was ready upon our return after the game.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

I decided to review each day of my hotel stay so that I can provide a better reviewing process. I arrived at the hotel around 1pm and my room was not ready. I did not expect it to be ready so that was no issue. The front desk staff was amazing and so kind. They took my bag so that I could run to a meeting I had. When I returned from my meeting, the front desk staff knew me by name and welcomed me back. That is very nice in this day and age. My room on the top floor was ready for me so they quickly got me all checked in and brought me my luggage. They also went over the breakfast hours and discussed with me the peak times for the elevator which is awesome. The fact that they go into that detail is great so that I can plan my days and not get frustrated with the elevator peak time. The room is very clean and perfect. I have a great view looking out onto south Manhattan and the room temperature control works ideal. I have stayed at some places where the heating and air conditioning were horrible. Looking forward to the next 3 nights here!!

Room Tip: Highest floor possible is something I always try to get especially in NYC.

This hotel is a good place to stay. Very well located near the Main Port Authority Bus Station, near the theatre district and Times Square, not far walk to 5th Avenue. Staff was extremely helpful and nice. The breakfast is included and is very adequate. Small dining area, but manageable. Price of the hotel is adequate to what you get.

Stayed in this hotel for two nights before taking a New England cruise. Hotel is clean and modern, bedding very comfortable. Staff was friendly. I had read reviews about how slow the elevator was but this was not an issue when we were there. Breakfast area can get crowded but we always found a table. There were a lot of choices for breakfast and staff kept the area clean and well stocked. We were able to store our luggage as we arrived early in the day and toured NYC. The hotel is a long walk from Times Square and is kind of on a back street that is not the nicest place in NYC but there were a lot of people walking around so we felt safe. The price was okay, high in our opinion but obviously not high for within walking distance of Times Square, since everything is expensive in NYC. Room was small but very nice. The Concierge arranged a private car to take us to the cruise port which was convenient. You cannot hail a taxi from this hotel; it is not an area where taxis travel unless they are dropping people off. The front desk told us to walk a few blocks to hail a taxi. That would be okay unless you are toting suitcases so getting a private service was a better option. Overall, this is a good place to stay.

Room Tip: Be sure you understand that this hotel is a long walk to Times Square - about 20 to 30 minutes and t...

Hello Cruisegirls!

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We enjoyed reading your comments and hope that other travelers will as well. We’re happy to see you were not affected by our elevators as they do tend to get congested during peak hours as other guests have stated. We’re a little puzzled by your remark about our location relative to Times Square as we are less than a 5 minute walk to the heart of Times Square proper. Although we are not directly in Times Square, we are officially considered to be in the Times Square neighborhood. Thank you again for staying with us and for sharing your feedback. We hope you enjoyed your cruise as well! Safe travels!

We returned to Uk on Thursday 4th October. We spent 4 nights at The Holiday Inn Express and had a fantastic time. A few helpful pointers for future travellers:- there is a hair drier in the bathroom, a coffee maker in the room, unlimited tea/coffee/water in the lobby and a very adequate breakfast each morning. The staff were very helpful and allowed us to leave our cases in our room until a quieter time because we were unable to put them in storage as one of the lifts was out of action. The lift was still not working when we left at 1600 hours.Luckily we were only on the 14th floor at breakfast time! Frank the manager was very apologetic but that didn't help my arthritic knees on the stairs. We would stay here again and cross our fingers over the lift or ask for a lower floor.

Room Tip: Don't go for a view, go for less stairs if one of the two lifts are out of action.

Yes it is New York, and yes the hotel is centrally located. That 's where the excitment ends. Booked for three nights at an amzing price of $ 400/day, for a 14 sqm room without refrigerator or safe. The room smelled bad due to lack of ventilation, and bath room towels, looked as if they survived second world war. The tiny breafast room, seats twenty and you have to wait to get a place to sit. Again, do you need to pay that much to visit NY. Not for me, next time I will head to the far east, where I will get waht I paid for.

Room Tip: All rooms look the same

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us and other travelers in the Trip Advisor community. We appreciate you trying out our location for your recent trip to NYC. On behalf of the hotel, we would like to sincerely apologize for failing to meet your expectations. As you stated, rates in NYC can fluctuate and be very high at times yet quite low in others. Unfortunately it seems you booked with us during a very high demand season, resulting in very high rates. Regardless of the cost, we still pride ourselves on offering outstanding service to all of our guests, especially when we know they are paying a high premium. We are disappointed in ourselves for allowing you to leave unsatisfied. If there is anything we can do for you in the future to make things right, please do not hesitate to contact a member of management in reference to this review. We truly hope that one day we can win you over as your hotel of choice. Until then, we sincerely wish you the best!

Regards,
