my 2nd time in NYC - but 1st time at Fitz Manhattan - lovely and roomy hotel - don't know where traveller had roach probs because our room was very clean? They let us check in a wee bit early and held our bags for us @ check out - Door guys were awesome - Phil we came to give you a tip but you had changed shift - so your shift replacement got it sorry! Weekend Front Desk - you guys were awesome - more pleasant than weekday staff sorry...a little farther than Times Square than I would have liked but still a great location close to Bloomingdale's and high end shopping (Coach, Burberry, Kenneth Cole) overall a very pleasant stay - but who really stays in their rooms while in NYC anyway! Would definetely return to this hotel again ......Note to hotel - the flowers on the table at the entrance make the foyer smell like a funeral home- I would recommend a different smelling bouquet than what was there like roses or something! Also, windows - should be upgraded to something a little thicker - we were up on a high floor and could hear conversations being held on the sidewalks below LOL very funny indeed!

Found the Fitzpatrick to be very accommodating to meet our individual needs. Location was perfect-could walk easily to 5th Ave., Rockefeller center, Grand Central, museums, and restaurants. We stayed in a suite which was roomy for NYC. Clean room, well furnished with separate room for bar sink and refrigerator. Maid service was the only slight annoyance. Three of us, they provided for two: asked for turn-down service and failed to receive. Would stay there in a heart beat.

Rude reception: We made our reservations on line and received a reasonable rate. When we arrived, my sister politely asked if breakfast was included. The man at reception rudely replied: "Not at the rates your paying!" During the remainder of our stay the service was just adequate.

Rooms: Some of the pillows were old and badly stained with yellow marks.
The bathrobes were nice to have but there were never enough facecloths.
Hot water was almost none existant.

Elevators: There are only 2 elevators in the hotel and during our stay, one was taken out
of service to replace the floor tiles. Long line-ups formed for rides up but most
guests took the stairs to come down.

I stayed here recently with a colleague during a business trip to the US.The location was perfect, a really nice cozy hotel with the most friendly and helpful staff I have ever come across, a special mention to the duty manager and concierge on duty on 29th April forgive me for not getting their names but we were rushing to the airport. Top marks and I look forward to staying there again and would recommend to friends and colleagues.
