As the old saying goes: "beauty is in the eye of the beholder," and there are some beautiful pieces here and then there were some I didn't think were 'art' at all. If you want to be challenged on a number of levels then this is a good museum to go to. (Particularly now with the Mapplethorpe exhibit going on.)

Having visited here twice, I would definitely recommend it. It's not exhaustive, so it's easy fit in to your trip (1hr-ish to go around). Of course the striking part is the architecture. I wouldn't say it's a must-see but if you have time, it's easy to fit in and interesting (of course depends on the exhibition) but it is a nice space.

Visited the Mapplethorpe exhibit as well as the in-house collection of Masterpieces by Degas, Picasso, Gauguin, Modigliani, and Chagall. Studied the architecture of FLW with each spiral level larger than the lower level.

The Hilma af Klint exhibition was on during our visit, and I appreciated the variety of images and the history associated with them, even though I'd probably not be tempted to display many of them. I loved the light and airy feel of the building.

As of today the museum was fully open. I enjoyed the art, the first floors collections was personally my fav. The building is probably what most people want to see. The Saturday pay what you want is busy but you can still easily see all the art
