This is a fabulous collection of classical art assembled by a wealthy family. The building used to be their home, it's amazing. It's also doable in one day, so you can in fact see every room in the museum in one visit.

The Frick is a New York treasure, housing a small collection of high quality works by European artists. We concentrated on the paintings, but there are also bronzes and other works of art. The painting collection focusses on portraits, and includes a number of pairs of portraits of subjects who had interesting connections (e.g. Thomas More and Thomas Cromwell). Audio guides are included, and the absence of obtrusive tour guides is much appreciated. Every art lover should visit the Frick.

Being a small museum makes your visit more enjoyable! There are so many artists exhibited in one place. The house itself is interesting as well. Close to other museums too.

the Frick Collection was recommended to me and was definitely worth a visit. Situated in what was a private house, there is an amazing range of artwork on display from da Vinci to Renoir and everything in between. There is currently also a temporary exhibition of drawings and sketches which I found very interesting. The setting adds to the visit and there is a particularly lovely courtyard with a fountain which is a bit if an oasis.
