“Must see: Leonardo's drawings”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

I visit the museum many times, but this time was exceptional. Seeing Leonardo De Vinci's drawing is something special. There are very few people in our history who can translate eye sight into a real manifestation on paper, he did. Don't miss, not to mention other exhibitions in this amazing place.

“Always a trove of unexpected treasures”
Reviewed December 31, 2013

So typical of The Morgan Library: an exquisite display of Leonardo Da Vinci drawings AND a world class exhibition of the first printings, poems in manuscript form and daguerreotypal portraits of Edgar Allan Poe! Thus, in two hours I came to know two geniuses intimately through seeing and learning from erudite and witty captions.
This Library is just superb.

“A hidden gem”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

The Morgan Library has been around for years and with little fanfare has offered some of the most dramatic collections anywhere. It's easy to get lost for an hour or two just browsing its own collections...a Gutenberg bible, all the art, etc...But add in specials, like the Edgar Allen Poe exhibit and there's nothing better.

“Bibliophile's Dream!”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

The Morgan Museum, the home of J. Pierpont Morgan, is a delightful stop! $18 gets you in, with free coat check, and free audiofile headset. The original study and library are well worth the fee! The book collection is extensive, and includes the only original copy of Dicken's handwritten Christmas Carol. Listening to the details of various rooms and artwork adds to the understanding of the man and the time. When in the library, look for the hidden staircase which gives access to the upper levels! With room for a traveling exhibit (it was Edgar Allan Poe, this time) and various other artworks, this museum is a delightful way to spend a couple of hours. A small exhibit of Leonardo da Vinci was impressive! The Morgan allows one a peek inside the opulent life style of one of our country's magnates! Well worth the visit, and in a delightful neighborhood just outside of the Garment District.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed December 29, 2013

Paid an unexpected trip as was walking past on the way to a restaurant. The Morgan is a place which takes you back to how one of the titans of wall street lived in the past, the collections are wonderful as well.

On Fridays after 7pm the entrance is free which is a bonus.
