“Awesome visit”

You will notice right on the first sight the history behind this library. JP itself was a collector and he admired the european culture. You will be able to find rare books, paintings, sculptures and objects. Don't leave NY without visiting it.

“Check out the library & the "seal" collection”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2012

Pierpont Morgan's library is a treat to visit during the day. You feel like you are in Europe with the ceiling coming from Florence. The antiquities, potraits, and books can be viewed up close within a 20 minute time frame. Don't miss the other room that holds the seals collection which are carved out of semi precious stone. I was not familiar with them so what an interesting collection. The cafe is supposed to be great as well for lunch and brunch.

“A bit disappointing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 15, 2012

I only wish there were more books opened for display to view. Beautiful setting, I'm glad I went. I guess I expected more as I went to the Frick the day before.

“Very impressive, Mr. Morgan”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2012

The Morgan Library is stunning; well worth a visit to see how the 1% (or 0.001%?) lived. The Museum is less interesting. The special exhibits on offer during my visit (Munich drawings, Albers, Wilson/Glass) might have great appeal for academics, but were too obscure for my taste.

“An overlooked gem”

Not on the popular tourist track, but both the assembledge of buildings and the surprisingly interesting collection of historical books makes this a great place to visit.
