There are so many treasures here. We joined an hour long tour which I recommend. We did not have time to stay longer and it is a MUST for another visit. We had little time, but wanted to eat before going on for UN tour, so opted for the cafe in the light space created by the architect Piano.

“A Jewel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2012

This museum is a small treasure. The exhibits change about 4 times a year(check on line to see what is on exhibit), but Mr Morgans library and study are available for viewing at all times. There is a open, airy court yard with a cafe serving nice salads, desserts, and coffee...it is a really nice place to relax. The gift shop had a wide variety of stationary, books, and gifts.

“Get away from the busy NY streets for a quiet moment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2012

We visited this Library & Museum a number of times. It was very beautiful inside (Renzo Piano used architecture to draw all the old buildings together) and a perfect place to have morning or afternoon tea. The presentation was quite unique, very affordable and added to the artistic nature of the space.

The old Library was fascinating with hidden stairs and a two level vault.

We felt very lucky to visit while some great exhibitions were on at the time - but I feel sure there always that good.

If I go back to visit again one day we will try going on a Friday evening.

“Go there!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2012

The library itself is well worth the walk. But look! Here's more, like traveling exhibits, beautiful Renzo Piano architecture connecting the 19th century buildings, and even a little Modern Art section (right now it's Dan Flavin). Lovely.

“Wonderful museum off beaten track”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2012

This is a great little museum. We went on a Friday night - and found that between 7pm-9pm on Fridays entrance is free (cafe and shop still open).

Gets 4 stars because there was a function on that night meaning we missed info like the audio guide and video as all stewards at front desk were pre-occupied.

However, this is a fantastic little museum, and the displays were wonderful. Don't get your hopes up of seeing a particular piece, but every cabinet was a treasure trove of famous names from literature and music. Also the staff in the galleries were incredibly knowledgeable and full of interesting pieces of information - well worth taking the time to talk to them.
