“Beautiful place!”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

The Cloisters is an absolutely amazing place to visit and the exhibits are awe inspiring. You would never believe you were in the city as you are transported as you leave your car and walk into the buildings and through the grounds. Spring and summer are the best as the flowers are all blooming.

“Worth it even to stroll the grounds only”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

We got here too late to go in but even Tryon Park and the Cloisters is worth just a nice stroll around for a bit of a break from the hectic city.

Rockefeller looked out across the Hudson, loved what he saw from the Cloisters and never wanted his view to be hampered by buildings- so he bought up the property across the river and it's still green and empty of buildings.

“Well worth the ride.”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

Takes a little time to get there on the subway but definitely worth it. The park around the Cloisters is beautiful, overlooking the Hudson River. The Cloisters is a semi-hidden gem of the city.

“one of a kind”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

Built with original stones from Europe, sitting atop a hill with a view, filled with authentic art and objects, this museum conveys a time travel backwards.

“Meditative beauty”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

An island of calm. Beautiful light on old stone and medieval art. The Orangerie is a treat for the senses, the gardens are always perfection, the energy is always peace and timelessness.
