The 9/11 Tribute Museum was a highlight of our trip to New York. The museum was a tasteful and respectable tribute to lives lost and the survivors. Along with the 9/11 tour we would thoroughly recommend this as a must do

We went as a family (2 adults & 3 children) our tour guide was Joe, a retired firefighter. The walking tour was really interesting it gave the children an insight and a strong understanding of what happened that day. As a family we would highly recommend this tour for families, as it gives children an accurate account of exactly what happened.
I would strongly recommend this tour for everyone (aged 8 and above). Each tour guide takes you on their personal journey of what happened to them on the day, so you receive a very personal account of the immediate impact and the subsequent impact. It makes you reflect on all acts of terrorism, around the world, and the devastation they inflict on those caught up in them.
This museum has artifacts from 9/11, but mostly has 2st hand stories and experiences from the responders, survivors, and families of the deceased. Video interviews can be viewed on kiosks and each artifact is accompanied by a quote of someone who was there. This museum is solemn and moving.
We can recommend this 9/11 museum instead of the larger memorial museum adjacent to the WTC ground. The 9/11 Tribute Museum focuses on the story of the survivors. It is a huge and very emotional experience. It is tough to listen to the people speaking. Bonus: There is no queue contrary to the memorial museum. Very strange.
Please note that this museum
Is not the 911 memorial and museum.
The 9/11 Tribute Museum offers factual information about the events of September 11 and its aftermath, it also highlights the tremendous spirit of resilience, compassion and service that arose after the attacks and offers inspiration for visitors to honor the legacy of these actions through volunteerism and acts of kindness in their own communities.it also showcases how they are integrating 9/11 into the national curriculum.
The tribute museum will take you about 45 mins to an hour to walk around. The entry fee is $15, you can also add on a tour of ground zero and the re development of the WTC with a survivor of 9/11 the price of this is $10 and I would highly recommend this. The tour guides are all volunteers who have survived 9/11 they share their personal and tragic stories whilst being factual of the events. You will also learn about the re development of the WTC and the creation of liberty park, the memorial pools and much more.
The volunteer tour guides do not accept tips however you can donate a few dollars to the museum if you wanted to.
