My husband and I were really pleased to visit Central Park - it did not disappoint. We walked a long way around it and it has a vibrant feeling to it. Beautifully kept and a lovely place to spend an hour or a day. Worth a visit

Skip the crappy map the kiosk vendors sell. Buy a quality map of the entire park for the same $2 at the Dairy Barn Visitor Center and Gift Shop--you'll find it between the Carousel and Chess and Checker House on one side, and the Central Park zoo on the other. The gift shop there is run by the Central Park Conservancy, so part of their proceeds go to maintaining the park, AND the souvenir stuff they sell is much nicer than you'll find in many of the street vendor kiosks.
Also, I highly recommend Kerb's Boathouse as a great place to sit outside, relax and have a drink, while you let your kids rent one of the remote controlled sailboats!

We didn't know what to expect but when we took our ride through Central Park we were surprised with the cleanliness and beauty of it. It is a must see while in NYC.

I took a horse and cart ride around Central park to see the best bits of the park. Very surreal that this beautiful lush green landscape blossoms in the middle of all the skyscrapers.

This is a nice little ride through CP. Our horse was Murphy. Our driver was from Ireland & super nice. We chose him because he was right up front & didn't have what's called, "barkers" out trying to drum up business for him He showed us the buildings that some of the celebs live in, etc. I was more hell-bent on finding the Balto statue for my daughters to see! (If you don't know about Balto...look him up. He was a husky from Nome, Alaska ;-) He drove us right up to the statue! Knew exactly what we wanted to see. It's a nice little break for tired feet. Worth it.

Thank K B
