“Stunning and overwhelming”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

This museum is massive so we decided to focus on the Egyptian section and a photography exhibit. We will definitely go back again and again. We did find the hard granite floors took a toll on our legs so wear comfy shoes to aid in the cushioning. We had flats and even my tall, thin 20 something daughter admitted sitting regularly was necessary.

“one of the best collections”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

its one of the best collections in the world, no doubt abt that. but for me, there are better museums to see i new york, with less people and more focused themes. i personally like primarily modern and contemporary art, which the met doesn't have the best collection of

“Amazing place”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

We didn't allow enough time to see it all, but what we saw was almost overwhelming. Beautiful building on it's own, and the exhibits were displayed to their best. Lots of information on each display and the staff was extremely helpful. Can't wait to go back and we'll allow much more time than a few hours.

“World Class”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

There is something for everyone at the Met. It's a beautiful museum. It's impossible to see everyone in an afternoon or even a day. It's best to focus on a specific section or two otherwise you might be overwhelmed. We had teenagers with us so we focused on what they just studied on school. I enjoyed the 19th century collection Picasso! Cezanne! Monet! Van Gogh! Seurat! We really enjoyed our visit.

“Wonderful Museum - Not Enough Time”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

I went to this museum with some young, teen girls. We were all overwhelmed at the vast size of the museum. We went to see The Temple of Dendur but we could not get very close to it as it was being set up for an event later in the evening. We did get to look at tons of amazing artifacts and works of art. I loved that the art there were more along the lines of sculptures, jewelry, statues, stair cases, etc. instead of simply being a collection of paintings. I also liked that there were rooms and wings with themes so you felt immersed in a certain time period or culture. This made the kids much more interested in learning about these pieces. We could have spent tons more time there - it was well worth the trip.
