“Fantastic museum but it requires a few days”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2014

This museum has so much wonderful stuff to look at, but it is exhausting. Take a few days to really enjoy it or pick one thing to explore and come back for another visit in the future.

“WOW”

This is one of the many "must see's" in NYC. One day day will not do it justice. Very manageable floor plan. Be prepared because it is always crowded.

“Fantastic......”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2014

If you only visit one place in New York then go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, I loved it. Spent 3 hours there and hardly touched it, amazing collections and on the day I visited relatively quiet....probably the best museum I have ever been to. The art collection includes Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet and the most fantastic Degas collection but there is something for everyone and collections around every corner (don't miss the Faberge collection which I just happened to come across). Something for everyone of all age groups and I can't wait to go back! Don't forget to sit on the steps when you leave and soak up the atmosphere of New York and 5th Avenue.

“If you only have time for one museum in NY City, this is probably the one to choose”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2014

Huge, great variety of displays, something for everyone. If you have enough time and enjoy museums, budget an entire day for this one. Of course you can't see it all in one day, as is true of other major world museums such as the British Museum and the Louvre. Pick and choose a few things you are most interested in and spend a day there, or a half day if that's all the time you can spare. Tickets give you in and out privileges so you can have lunch there or go out for lunch and come back. Tickets are also pay-what-you-want (suggested donation).

I thought their Egyptian artifacts collection was particularly good. Decent collection of 19th and 20th century paintings by European and American artists as well.

“2 nd time here and it still inspires me”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 10, 2014

It's 6 floors so put on your walking shoes. There are cafe's and snack shops with restrooms on all floors. Lots of space so the large amounts of people are not on top of each other when viewing the exhibits. Plenty of staff on hand to protect you from yourself when you want to touch something.. it's hard not to want to touch...
