Wow! It's up there with the Louvre. NEVER knew how fabulous it was. Be sure to eat at one of the restaurants. The atmosphere was fabulous.

“Utterly amazing”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

I only had 4 hours to spend here but have never seen a museum like it - whole Egyptians temples, baroque bedrooms, English drawing rooms and more, as well as many magnificent objects from every historic period in many many cultures around the world...

You could lose yourself for at least two whole days in this place and not get bored. And photography (without flash) is allowed. Amazing place, and the $25 admission fee is 'suggested' rather than compulsory, so you can pay whatever you feel is reasonable. I paid $10 and felt like a cheapskate for what I saw.

If I ever come back to NY I will plan to spend at least 2 full days here.

“Not into art, but this was great.”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

You don't have to be interested in art to enjoy it. Just go and be surprised. Also, you don't have to pay the full entrance charge. You can get in by just making a contribuition of a few dollars.

“So much art, so little time....”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

The Metropolitan Museum of Art needs a minimum of three hours to fully enjoy. Then, be sure to leave time for lunch or dinner at their fine restaurant.
