Wonderful Museum of World Class, but like others of it's caliber it can be overwhelming so either go with the flow and just enjoy the moments , or plan ahead, visit their website, and decide on the specific pieces or exhibit you want to see and schedule an appropriate amount of time. Consider a membership if you want to get a discount on merchandise and parking.

I love going to museums. I especially enjoyed the Egyptian displays. We saw Making the Impressionism and Modernity. and the after Photoshop.

“Even the lunch is artistic”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

It had been years since my last visit to New York City so the Met was high on my list of "must-sees." As always, it was spectacular. I was fortunate to be there when "impressionism and Fashion" was a special exhibit -- a number of actual gowns worn in the portraits exhibited gave a special touch to the whole. There were five of us and we opted for the cafeteria when lunch-time rolled around. Each of our various choices was both tasty and beautiful as befits the art of the museum.

“Terrific, of course”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

What a wonderful museum. The Greek and Roman exhibits are wonderful, the American decorative arts terrific (don't miss the corridors of furniture in the back), and the impressionists a delight. Expensive for a museum, but worth it.
