Owner description: F. W. Woolworth funded this elaborate design on his own dime - and nickel. Designed by the renowned architect Cass Gilbert in 1913 as Frank W. Woolworth’s NYC headquarters, the landmarked Woolworth Building was the tallest in the world for 17 years. Long closed to the public, architectural tours of its magnificent vintage lobby are now available.

at the Woolworth Kitchen round the corner in Barclay St. Food and service have been good whenever we have visited - 4(?) times. Pity it isn't open every night...Quite atmospheric and never over busy or rushed...
