It was a chilly if sunny day in January when I made my second visit to the Empire State Building. The first visit was a hot day in August 1970!
We booked on line and paid $22 to visit the 86th floor Observation Deck.
It was low season so we quickly passed by the barriers where the masses line up during busier times. In high season, if you do not want to wait, it might be worth paying $45 for an express pass
The fee seemed expensive but was definitely worth it for the magnificent 360 degree panorama over the city.
The day we went it was very windy so it was good to retreat inside to warm up from time to time. Even if you stay under cover you will still see enough to make the trip worthwhile.
