The only way you get to see her up close is on the boat trip (which we had with our city passes) It would have been better if they had a commentary to give a history of the statue and Ellis island but there wasn't. We have been before and were fortunate enough to get into the statue

Great history lesson! The museum inside offers great insights to how the Statue came to be. The walk to the top is definitely a good workout, but totally worth all the work. The view of Manhattan is amazing from all levels.

very nice experience, but it is better when you are going there than when you are already there, your excitement is bigger.
it is nice to see one of the most popular statues of the world, but not so much as people are talking about it

Went on the Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty, loved seeing Lady Liberty & climbed the few hundred steps up inside, but its worth it & its a museum inside with history of how the Statue of Liberty came to New York etc. Well worth a visit!

“Still Closed for entry?”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

Was very up set to find that you may walk the grounds and enter the first floor gift shop but you can not go up to the top view spot in The Statue Of Liberty and have not been able to sense 9-11 I believe. We went at a time where our Government was begging for people to travel and assured that all attractions historic or not were open for us to do so. This was not the case when we traveled to New York and was really the only thing still closed and was permanently last I was told. However to fairy ride to the Liberty Grounds was a nice one and the view is still breath taking and a must to all.
