Owner description: Grand Central Terminal is the most extraordinary public space in New York City. Opened to the public in 1913, this historic train terminal is a world-famous landmark in Midtown. Its rich history is a story of immense wealth and great engineering. Grand Central is one of the busiest train stations in the world, with approximately 750,000 visitors every day. It is the home of Metro-North Railroad, a subway station, iconic restaurants, shops, and the world's most alluring Apple Store. Some of the highlights to see along your tour of Grand Central include the opal-faced clock, valued at $20 million, above the Information Booth, the Largest Tiffany Glass Clock in the World below the 48-foot, 1500-ton Transportation statue overlooking 42nd Street at Park Avenue, and the mystifying acoustics of the Whispering Gallery in front of the Oyster Bar and Restaurant. Audio and guided tours are available for those with a passion for history. More information regarding tours and ways to plan your visit can be found on the Grand Central Terminal website.

“Grand Central Station Audio Tour”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

If you go to Grand Central station make sure you do the self guided audio tour. Very interesting facts and points out areas you would miss if you just walk around and look yourself. Very beautiful building with a food court on the lower level with lots of variety. We were glad we went there @ 5:00 pm during the rush hour which added to the experience of seeing New Yorkers on their way home from work.

“A New York essential”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

We try to visit Grand Central Terminal every time we visit New York - it is the most amazing place, from the grandeur of the main booking hall, to the huge range of shops, restaurants and cafes throughout. As other reviewers have said, it seems familiar from movies we have seen, yet nothing really prepares you for the splendour, brilliant!

“One of my favorite NYC spots”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Even if you're not coming/going from this station you should make a point of visiting. Just stand in the middle of the concourse and take in all the energy. You'll see every walk of life. Visit the market on the street level. See if there is a show in the gallery. Check out the transit museum outpost. Eat oysters at The Oyster Bar. Have a drink at Campbell's apartment. You might want to grab a seat with a view at one of the restaurants above the concourse b/c there is nowhere else to sit to take it all in.

“A must see when visiting”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

Just went thre the other day after my brother had visited it. I find myself going back over and over again, just in awe. This place is amazing. From the oyster bar to the whispering wall...to some of the largest Tiffany windows on the planet...to the grand central market. The history just never ends. Walk around, look at the ceiling, look at the walls...take it in. Truly amazing...30 minutes here on a vacation to new york should be good, but you can easily spend an hour...withou eating. Go to he oyster bar or Campbell apartment for a taste, or drink of history...or Michael Jordan's steak for the atmosphere alone.

“Grand Central Station”
Reviewed November 18, 2013

We stopped in to Grand Central Station to admire the beauty of the building and also checked out the Holiday Train Show put on by the MTA Museum. The station's architecture is magnificent and this is not the first time we've been there. Not to mention there is a Junior's Cheesecake store in one of the alleys.
