Owner description: Grand Central Terminal is the most extraordinary public space in New York City. Opened to the public in 1913, this historic train terminal is a world-famous landmark in Midtown. Its rich history is a story of immense wealth and great engineering. Grand Central is one of the busiest train stations in the world, with approximately 750,000 visitors every day. It is the home of Metro-North Railroad, a subway station, iconic restaurants, shops, and the world's most alluring Apple Store. Some of the highlights to see along your tour of Grand Central include the opal-faced clock, valued at $20 million, above the Information Booth, the Largest Tiffany Glass Clock in the World below the 48-foot, 1500-ton Transportation statue overlooking 42nd Street at Park Avenue, and the mystifying acoustics of the Whispering Gallery in front of the Oyster Bar and Restaurant. Audio and guided tours are available for those with a passion for history. More information regarding tours and ways to plan your visit can be found on the Grand Central Terminal website.

“Crowded, Lovely and lively”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013

This Place connects to almost all places in NYC and therefore very crowded and lively. Full of passengers, tourists and visitors. Celebrating 100thanniversary and has year round events. The hall is beautiful and well maintained with lots of chandeliers. Lots of shops inside and outside. Lots of eating places and shopping places.
There is a Grand Central market in the complex and it is amazing. You get lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, bread and many more things.
Went there many times and see lots and lots of people taking pictures, enjoying the place and shopping and eating.

“Just visited on 100th anniversary”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

This place keeps it's word. It's GRAND. The place is somehow overcrowded by tourists. You'll be seeing more tourists than the people actually riding in the subway. The architecture is simply amazing and grandeur. The ceiling is mesmerizing. Couldn't stop taking photos of it. I'm happy I could stop by.

“Wow, beautiful inside and out, and it's free!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

Lovely building from the outside, very imposing. Even more lovely inside the massive entrance hall, don't forget to look up! Lots of eateries downstairs, reasonable value (much better than the KFC outside, yuk) and nice loos - sorry, restrooms. Must see this freebie.

“Must see!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

Grand Central Terminal was very beautiful. There are people all trying to get somewhere mixed in with tourist like myself so the place can get very busy. But it is iconic and grand and a must see. The ceiling is gorgeous and you can see where it was cleaned and restored. One little patch of dirt remains to show you how bad it was. Lots of shops and places to eat.

“It's Grand at 100!”

Beautiful architecture, don't miss the museum if you are fascinated by the subway and the complexity of the NYC transit system. Stop for a while before heading out to appreciate early 20th century workmanship.
