Owner description: Grand Central Terminal is the most extraordinary public space in New York City. Opened to the public in 1913, this historic train terminal is a world-famous landmark in Midtown. Its rich history is a story of immense wealth and great engineering. Grand Central is one of the busiest train stations in the world, with approximately 750,000 visitors every day. It is the home of Metro-North Railroad, a subway station, iconic restaurants, shops, and the world's most alluring Apple Store. Some of the highlights to see along your tour of Grand Central include the opal-faced clock, valued at $20 million, above the Information Booth, the Largest Tiffany Glass Clock in the World below the 48-foot, 1500-ton Transportation statue overlooking 42nd Street at Park Avenue, and the mystifying acoustics of the Whispering Gallery in front of the Oyster Bar and Restaurant. Audio and guided tours are available for those with a passion for history. More information regarding tours and ways to plan your visit can be found on the Grand Central Terminal website.

“New York Landmark”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

Hard to believe that at one time NY thought of demolishing this to make way for more skyscrapers. This is one of the very few landmarks that are functional, and keep up with changing times.

Information Desk area with the inverted sky
Main building area - walking through time
Apple Store - just to check out the concept

The food court - in New York, you get so many better food options, so do yourself a favor and step outside to enjoy a good cup of coffee or eat food off a cart.
The stores - again walk up to Fifth Ave for better deals

“Must see - just beautiful”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

I have always heard so much about Grand Central and seen it in so many movies, and I wasn't disappointed. It is absolutely beautiful. We spent some time taking in the view from the Apple Store, and after chatting to a store employee re movies/music clips that had been made at the terminal, the employee helped us search and view the clips on YouTube. A very special experience.

“No Grand Cental Station”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Please go see this but do not call it Grand Central Station. They want you to say Terminal. Well, who cares right, when in Rome do as the Roman do. It was wonderful and well worth the time. Take some time to do this though you will want to explore and see the sites.

“Loveliest place in Manhattan”
Reviewed June 20, 2013

Considering this is only a station this place rocks with some amazing resturants and booths. You can kill a lot of time shopping and walking alone here.
