Owner description: Grand Central Terminal is the most extraordinary public space in New York City. Opened to the public in 1913, this historic train terminal is a world-famous landmark in Midtown. Its rich history is a story of immense wealth and great engineering. Grand Central is one of the busiest train stations in the world, with approximately 750,000 visitors every day. It is the home of Metro-North Railroad, a subway station, iconic restaurants, shops, and the world's most alluring Apple Store. Some of the highlights to see along your tour of Grand Central include the opal-faced clock, valued at $20 million, above the Information Booth, the Largest Tiffany Glass Clock in the World below the 48-foot, 1500-ton Transportation statue overlooking 42nd Street at Park Avenue, and the mystifying acoustics of the Whispering Gallery in front of the Oyster Bar and Restaurant. Audio and guided tours are available for those with a passion for history. More information regarding tours and ways to plan your visit can be found on the Grand Central Terminal website.

The is a beautiful terminal and definitely worth a visit if you are nearby. It is currently celebrating 100 years. They have a number of artistic performances there especially for children. Just realize that it can get very crowded!

Walked through, explored a bit, and took some pictures. Three days after returning, found out that a guy just published a book on the history and the "unknown" things about Grand Central Terminal. Before I go again, I will read up on it first. For example, Grand Central Terminal is where time zones were unified from almost 100 down to the 4 we have in the US today. Why? To coordinate trains so they wouldn't run into each other. There is a lot more to it than just a pretty building.

I wouldnt mind commuting in NYC if I could travel through this station every day - Grand by name and nature - it is stunning. Super clean and everything sparkles. We were here early on a cold morning and warmed up with coffee while looking around. Then we decided to come back at lunch time and eat in the Oyster Bar - what a treat! A 'must-do' if you are here on your holidays.

What a truly amazing place it is beautiful I didnt realise just how beautiful it would be I had seen it on movies before but to actually be there in person. I would recommend anyone who can to make a visit you will not be dissappointed. There are several places to eat its really busy but this just adds to the atmosphere

This is most amazing building, the full glory of the architecture is stunning. Every ticket booth is gleaming polished brass and the glittering chandeliers are beautiful. Do not miss this glorious place.
