“Best Pork Bun! Ramen ok.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

Bit disappointed with the ramen since this i MOMOFUKU, I was expecting exceptional ramen. it was so-so and not served HOT-HOT.

The pork buns were excellent! Its really made from two giant slices of pork belly, hoisin or plum sauce, scallions, between steamed chinese bread.

“Get there early!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013

Loved the Pork Belly buns the most! The Brisket bun was a tad greasy, but still very edible! We both ordered the Momofuku Ramen and I was surprised to see the white slice of "fake seafood" in $16.00 bowl of ramen! Nonetheless, everything was okay and service was brisk and friendly at the Noodle Bar! I will venture to say, I like the ramen better at Ippudo but the Pork Belly buns reign supreme here!

“Tasty noodle heaven!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2013

I had heard from several people that we should eat here so we showed up at 11pm on a Friday night and it was so busy/popular that we waited 30 minutes to be seated. The food was delicious, the wine nice and the service very efficient and friendly. We sat at the bar (which was fun) and ate the pork buns (tender), shitake buns (love the cucumber condiment), the pork belly ramen and the ginger scallion noodles. Delicious!

“Absolutely delicious!”

Excellent food and interesting flavours. We had the momofuku ramen (pork belly ramen soup) and we devoured it! Quality/quantity/price were very appropriate. Sitting at the bar right in front of the cooks was an interesting experience and we totally recommend it!

“A Great Dining Experience with Kids!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

I was travelling with a group that included some youngish kids (8 -13 yo) - so we made a fried chicken reservation at the noodle bar. First off - I need to commend the service staff. They were absolutely fantastic - probably one of the best service experiences we had while in NYC. One of the kids had a pretty serious shell fish allergy and they made sure that high risk items were identified and alternatives were available. At no time did the service team make us feel like we were being unreasonable or like it was a hassle. They were absolutely stellar - considering we were not a high roller table (kids, not alot of booze).

The fried chicken meal is an absolute steal at $100 for two whole chickens being fried and enough side dishes to satisify a group of 7. We ordered a number of other dishes and had to pack much of the chicken up (which was pretty delicous the next day - even cold from the hotel room mini fridge!).

The pork belly buns are magnificent - soft and pillowy, the pork belly perfectly cooked, with a lick of hoisin to pull it all together. The kids demolished multple orders of them. The ramen is great - the stock and the garnishes are really elevated. The noodles themselves are fine - and bit tight and lacking in slippery bouyancy - but it's still a great bowl of noodles.

It was a real highlight on the trip - especially for the kids. They knew that this was a very famous restaurant and were excited to go - the staff made them feel welcome, special and all grown up. Great job Momofuku Noodle Bar!!!
