I accidentally booked a room at both the Ace Hotel and the Greenwich one weekend, and after checking out the Ace I moved immediately to the Greenwich, which is vastly superior to the Ace (if much more expensive). The room I saw at the Ace was dark and cold-feeling, whereas the Greenwich feels like a warm if slightly spartan room in a rich friend's European lodge. I loved the comfy bed, the spaciousness of the room, and the sophisticatedly simple decor. That said, the Greenwich didn't feel entirely ideal to me. The wood finishings in the hallways look too new or something-- they seem to be going for an old lodge feel, but in that case they need to have that heavy wood piney smell, and they don't, so it just feels weird (perhaps this is because I grew up going to old lodges in the mountains that all had a very heavy scent of pine). The hard wooden floors were cool but like the hallway, felt like they needed some age or heft or something, or maybe just some warmer, furry area rugs-- something to warm up the space just a bit.
Things I liked: I loved the shower, very luxe. The pool and steam room were also luxurious. The library room on the first floor was beautiful; I made sure to stop there every evening on the way in to my room. Generally speaking, I slept well and felt warm and coddled by the space, if just slightly less comfortable than I would have felt had they somehow solved the new/hard surfaces problem.

We stayed at the Greenwich hotel and everything was absolutely fabulous. The rooms were great, the staff of the Hotel was very nice and friendly and this is without any doubt a place to go back to as soon as possible.

I recently spent a night here. The room was nice. Furniture was high quality. Nice bathrooms. All the non alcoholic things in the mini bar were free. Staff was courteous. Kind of a hip ambiance. Nice bar. Very convenient for TriBeCa, not so much for other destinations. Not cheap but I guess about typical for NYC.

This hotel is a gem ! Impeccable service, great ambience. You feel as if you are in the private townhouse of a very stylish and wealthy friend. No affections, and no attitude. The spa and Locanda Verde especially are delightful as is the courtyard and library.Incredible attention has been given to detail designwise, it is really one of a kind. Am already planning my next overnight at the Greenwich.

The Greenwich Hotel in TriBeCa is an elegant hotel with European charm. What stands out in my memory is the cozy lobby with a roaring fire place, the bare wood floors with area rugs, the deep soaking tubs. And the subterrainian pool that they will open any time of night. Of course the kid loved the giant fish bowl full of candy for which the hotel does not charge a penny. The hotel restaurant is also great.

The Greenwich has quickly become our FAVORITE hotel in NYC!! Regardless of where in the city our destination is.....we LOVE it there!! Stepping through the doors...you feel immediately welcome....front desk staff has always been lovely...and although our room is always ready immediately....we will often choose to have a cocktail in the beautiful library first !! The pool and spa are absolutely beautiful....the rooms perfectly appointed!! (the only problem are all of the "treats" you are obligated to sample in the "goody bin")...Did I mention the shampoo/conditioner and soap???????? I absolutely recommend!!
