“wonderful planetarium”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

Great way to see the night sky and get to view the universe. Easy to get to and there wasn't much of a line. The planetarium is a part of the American Museum of Natural history so make a day of it to see both.

“Very realistic”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

Small kids might be a little frightened by the awesome quality of the images here. My daughter burst out crying a couple of years ago because she actually thought one of the planets was going to fall out of the screen, onto us. I have seen kids as old as 6 or 7 do this, and honestly, even I get a little nervous. :-) This is a magnificent planetarium, worthy of the trip if you are anywhere near NYC. Honestly, the Museum of Natural History is a top reason we would even travel to NYC!! Love it.

“show is brief”
Reviewed July 22, 2014 via mobile

thirty minute dark matter show is pretty good and should get kids thinking about big ideas. but it feels rushed and glosses over hard concepts without explaining. worried that it might be frightening for a toddler but it was not.

“Awesome show - over too soon”

This is an experience not to be missed. You are transported into the stars and feel like you are there. You even learn more about galaxies than you thought you wanted to know. It was a little disappointing that it was a bit less than 1/2 hour long, which made our admission of $29 pricy. The admission included the entire Museum of Natural History, but unfortunately we didn't have time for much of that. If you can do the museum too, it would be well worth it!

The Planetarium and Rose Center for Earth and Space are a must see if you are traveling with tweens. My children dreaded another museum but loved every minute they spent here!
