When visiting Lincoln Center in NYC, it is easy to fall prey to one of the enormous restaurants that are nearby and designed to deal with the large masses of people that descend onto the Opera or Concerts each night. The problem is that although Rosa Mexicano is okay, you are treated like cattle, i.e., rushed in, fed average food and then rushed out to free the table. So try Nick and Toni's. N and T's is a small, cool place with very good food. Upon entering, one finds a nice bar with glowing wood fired oven. Warm lighting, good service and only about fifteen tables complete the scene. The food is very good, with a nice array of fish, pasta and meat offerings, all with a reasonable price tag. Be wary of the wine by the glass prices as it may be better for two to just buy the bottle. Otherwise, Nick and Toni's is a big winner in this area. Give ts a try. On a recent early lunch visit to try the pizza (okay), got to meet Tony Danza (not so nice) and Regis Philbin (extremely nice) there!
