Description: An Authentic Taste of Andalusian Amada is an Andalusian tapas bar and restaurant in a contemporary setting in the thriving neighborhood of Battery Park in Downtown New York City.Chef Jose Garces embraces the rich traditions of Spanish gastronomy while incorporating modern tapas. Offering unique signature dishes available only in NYC, like our whole roasted suckling pig, we do feature classic staples of Philadelphia's Amada. Amada offers an extensive wine list of completely Spanish wines , including two wines "from the barre", seasonal sangria and traditional Spanish cocktails. A highlight is our Gin&Tonics with exotic tonic waters and garnishes. With private and semi-private dining options, Amada is the perfect place for your next event. Amada's café, Amadita, serves coffee, pastries and a selection of grab and go lunch items, such as empanadas and bocadillos.

We stumbled upon this restaurant on a cold day and were walking to get the boat for a trip down the Hudson. We asked if we could just have drinks and they said no problem but on seeing the tapas going to other tables decided to try some ourselves. We had a selection of tapas all very nice and had a lovely glass of wine to accompany them.

I don't usually do restaurant week menus but after seeing my friend's post from Amada, I wanted to give it a go. It was absolutely worth it. My girlfriend and I were stuffed when we left and really enjoyed the food. They had a great assortment of tapas – meat, seafood and vegetables, not to mention excellent cocktails.

The decor is quite inviting as well – even in what can be a weird part of downtown. I would definitely return to dine from their regular menu.

I had dinner here with colleagues a few weeks ago while in NYC for work. We were able to sit out on the patio since the summer warmth was still holding on (barely). We had a great meal, sampling and sharing lots of tapas plates, along with a few bottles of wine.

Service was aloof but efficient, quality of the food was very good, and overall I recommend it if you're looking for tasty Spanish food in a more modern setting.

Four of us dropped in early (before most people have dinner) at this stylish Spanish restaurant in Battery Park City for a light meal. That meant sampling lots of tapas. Since the food is so rich, it wasn’t so light after all. The bread course comes as light crackers and a creamy tuna dip. A Serrano Ham and fig salad was unusually presented by being wrapped in the ham; it was very tasty even though the figs weren’t fresh. Lamb meatballs were very rich with a sherry and foie gras sauce. Grilled sourdough was smothered in chopped tomatoes that made it seem like thick pizza. Spicy ham croquettes were presented on cushions of thick dip. Garlic shrimp was garlicky. Arugula and oranges did little to lighten roasted pork with white beans. If this all sounds delicious…it was. The wine is mostly Spanish and not cheap. Service was very good. The joint was really jumpin by the time we left.

We have been here for a business lunch and enjoyed the whole experience. It is not true Spanish food, a lot of international influences, but loved it!
