Once you get by the surly counter staff and finally get your food, the taste was worth it. Would I go back? NO.

When you walk into this place, you are blown away by all the fabulous food...then you pay...then your order gets messed up...then your rating goes down. The food was okay, probably would have been better if it was the panini I ordered. The deserts were pretty good. $50 seemed very high for a light meal for two people.

Went once during a week long sightseeing trip. The setting is good on the corner of 50th St. The counter display is immense and ever so tempting, all manner and means of the usual NY/USA fayre. There's a minimum spend limit which I assume is if you're eating there, otherwise I didn't understand the point. It is classy in terms of quality, but given the prices which are unsurprisingly not cheap, I'm disappointed with the Delis' almost universal practice of giving you food to eat 'in' on plastic or polystyrene when crockery wouldn't hurt and woud improve the ambience. Irresistable as a lot of the selections are, and as usual they put UK sandwiches to shame, especially in London where pathetic, uninteresting small EXPENSIVE offerings are the order of the day. The cakes and desserts looked very impressive too. Give it a go is my advice.

We went to Majestic three times during our stay in NYC. The convenient location of the deli is amazing, right in the hub of the Theatre District, Time Square and Central Park. Food is delicious, good coffee and breakfast. The gentlemen behind the counter were quick to prepare our meals and they were funny and friendly too. Sit by the window and people watch. Gotta get there.

Great spot for breakfast, nothing fancy ,just typical short-order deli fare, plus a wide selection of cakes/drinks/snacks.enjoyed breakfast plus a late night tiramisu.
