Description: Bar Boulud is Chef Daniel Boulud’s casual wine bar and bistro located across from Manhattan’s Lincoln Center. A sumptuous array of house made charcuterie complements classic bistro cooking at both lunch and dinner. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner seven days and offers pre- and after-theater dining as well as a four-course weekend brunch for $32.00. Outdoor dining is available on the Broadway sidewalk terrace seasonally. We offer a 3-course prix-fixe at lunch for $29.00 and a $45.00 price fixe menu for dinner, as well as a la carte options. Three private wine themed dining rooms adjacent to the walk-through wine cellar are available for private events.

Went to Bar Boulud for Restaurant Week's $38/pp 3 course dinner special and the experience was wonderful. The decor, the quiet noise level, the service, and yes, the food were all spot on. We've added this to our list of excellent dining near Lincoln Center..

We go to Bar Boulud whenever we are visiting Lincoln Center. The service is outstanding and the food amazing. Last night ordered the steak frites - cooked to perfection. There is a pre fixe dining option as well. Wine list is varied and there is a lot to choose from. Atmosphere lively. We keep coming back and will continue to do so.

Our group had a very poor experience at Bar Boulud for dinner. We were seated near the receptionist and the people that were waiting for their tables literally had their "rear ends" on our table. One of them apologized to us but it really wasn't his fault. The wait staff kept bumping into one of us whenever they went by because there is no space between the tables - at least where we were seated. The waitress was simply surly. I concluded she needed medication to calm her down. The food was okay but nothing special. We have dined at Bar Boulud before but never again. It is definitely not worth the price.

We dined there with our friends from Argentina and really enjoyed the food. From the appetizers to the main course and desserts, it was amazing and Daniel obviously has trained his chefs well! The only negative was the service. For such a small restaurant, they had many servers and bus staff, along with 2 maitre d's. We were expecting the service to be up-to-par with the food, but instead found it to be extremely slow and having to as several times for our plates to be removed along with drink orders. It was so poor that I called to complain afterwards, (to avoid embarrassing our guests) and the maitre d' did not seem to care, simply stating he will speak with the staff. We live a block away from this restaurant and although the food was excellent, we would think twice into going again simply because of the poor serving staff.

It's hard to put my finger on it. It's a bit like a broadway show that is closing a few months… all the songs were there, all the lines were delivered, but it just didn't feel compelling. The staff seemed to be lacking a little oversight for restaurant in this league--a late deliver of wine for the main course; servers not quite in touch with the waiters; hostesses who seemed feel that "eating with us is an honor."

The food was good; interesting. My wife's chicken was perhaps the best bit of chicken breast I've ever tasted. But my chestnut pasta was something that ate well for a few bites, but not something that felt great for an entree. The pates were good; the wine selection interesting but I'm not sure our server steered us in the best directions in terms of food pairing.
