I've been playing LCGC for a few years now and I have seen great changes made on this course. The only big problem is slow play. There are a few retirees that think they own the course and will not let you play through. But most will. And the marshals are quite friendly and helpful with moving play along. The entire staff are very friendly.
There are no sand bunkers and really only one water hazard but the desert will eat your golf ball with an errant shot. Plenty of hill (especially #9, 15 and 18). #18 is a particular hole as your tee shot is uphill and your second is a hard left before you even see the green. Probably one if my favorite holes.
All in all, it's a challenging course and well maintained.
