My wife and I visited Sitting Bull Falls with our friends who are from the area. I dare so we enjoyed the falls more than the Caverns, certainly more adventure to be had. To begin, the drive out is pretty scenic and the parking is ample. They have pavilions for picnics with BBQ pits and bathrooms. The falls are a short walk away from the parking lot and it is simply amazing and fun. The falls are about 160 feet tall spilling into pools that merge into a stream towards the back of the canyon. I felt like a Spanish Conquistador exploring the area that seems so out of place in the desert. Your inner child is easily awoken by the park. You can swim and wade in the water or take a hike up to the source of the falls if you want a different adventure. The hike to the top is about 2 miles and achievable by all who are capable of walking. Once you arrive to the source you are greeted by a desert spring that is absolutely breathtaking. As an added bonus for taking the path less traveled, there is a rope swing that will allow you to make epic splashes in your on little oasis. This park is a must see if you are in the area, like I mentioned before we actually enjoyed the falls more then Carlsbad caverns. The Caverns are awesome but the falls made me feel like a kid and I got to cool off during the New Mexico summer days. Definitely a great place to bring young kids or the young at heart.
