This bakery uses an impressive, wood-fired brick oven which is a great process for making the best breads and pastries and delicious pizza crust around. The bakery is a destination for many and a regular stop-over for cyclists on Saturdays looking for some delicious carbohydrates. A little limited on the seating inside but that forces you to go out onto the great deck outside and drink in the mountain fresh air. Makes for a great experience.

I stopped here in my way home from visiting the Carl Sandburg home one of the locals I met actually suggested it. The staff was very friendly. I was in a hurry so I had a an apple cinnamon Danish and a camomile tea. The Danish was delicious and all of the other good being served look fabulous. If you are in flat rock I suggest to stop here and have a bite.

The bakery uses a great brick oven and turns out amazing pastries, quiches, pizzas and breads. I think their pizza is the very best around with a thin crisp crust. Try the wild mushroom with sausage added for an incredible experience. There is limited indoor seating but the back deck is heaven when the weather is worm enough. Sundays after church can be a bit crowded but you can also call sad with your order and then you go to the head of the line. In the summer the Bakery and nearby merchants put on great musical performance where everyone brings a charm and hangs out snacking and listening to the music.

The Flat Rock Village Bakery is our favorite place for breakfast, when we visiting Hendersonville. The pastries are the best around. Try to get there early as it can get busy.
