Just happened to be driving by at breakfast time. At first glance it did not look that inviting, but once we parked and walked through a charming garden area, we were feeling better about this choice. Inside the cafe is a gift shop and then patrons proceed into the dining areas. We had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated by the one and only waitress/hostess. We were in a porch-like area which was charming. It took a while to get our coffee which was a negative. Then when we got our food all was forgiven. We both had huervos rancheros which were absolutely the best we have had outside of Mexico. The waitress was friendly, but maybe a bit overwhelmed. Prices were not cheap, but on par with the area. We would eat here again.

We stopped in for a quick breakfast and were not disappointed. Great place for good food, good service. There is a store attached to the restaurant with local trinkets, and other touristy things.

we didn't look any further for our second evening meal in Torrey. Fresh food well prepared and presented --- great.

We spent the night of my Husbands 70th Birthday on Vacation in Torrey, so I took him to the Capitol Reef Café for a Steak Dinner. He had the Tenderloin Beef Steak and I had the Sirloin, they were both very good, seasoned so that steak sauce was not needed, and the sides were also very good.

My wife and I had dinner at the Capitol Reef Inn and Cafe. We both had the special, grilled chicken with asparagus and a baked potato for $12.99. The chicken was a good size 8 oz. portion but the asparagus was scant and the baked potato undercooked. Service was less than stellar - with my wife not getting her iced tea refilled until after she finished eating. All in all, the menu has quite a few items, including a number of salads that claim to have many fresh vegetables as well as steaks and seafood. We can't speak to the quality of their other food but pricing was $13-$25 for entrees. Atmosphere was like an old house and pretty spartan.

Many locals seemed to frequent the restaurant so it could be our experience was not the norm. Hip and Hop
