The menu was unique and the food was excellent. Service was very good also. Prices were reasonable for a remote location.

“A real gem!”
Reviewed May 13, 2014

Who would expect to find such outstanding food in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere - we found it! The food was outstanding. I devoured the trout with pumpkinseed while my husband cleaned his plate of beef tenderloin with the tastiest mashed potatoes he ever had. He said he didn't even need a knife to cut the beef. We shared the wonderful gazpacho in a bowl of ice. The dishes were prepared so the flavors of the ingredients were at their best and spoke for themselves. The wait staff was superb. The restaurant is not large, but can handle big groups. We had a tour group over 20 people there when we were. It still was quiet enough for us to talk to each other and their service for our meal was still outstanding.

“Upscale in a small town”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

I would give this place 4 stars based on food alone but my husband says I am being a food snob. He loved his meal. I liked mine. Here's the skinny....

Great looking place with loads of interesting artwork. Lively atmosphere without being deafening. You can certainly hear the conversations of those around you which is a tad distracting especially when your neighbors are being rude to the waiter. The complimentary hummus was divine, as was the yellow gazpacho served in a bowl ( yes, an actual bowl) made of ice. What a presentation!

Dinner was likewise beautiful to look at. As for the taste...well, therein is my dilemma. The salmon was good, had a bit of a sweet chili sauce on it. The accompanying black bean cake was bland as bland can be...really tasted like a cake of flour. The roasted veggies, also pretty, were also bland. They cried out for some spices, maybe some tangy sauce, some vinegar, a little salt. Husband had the pork tenderloin which had a tasty, smokey flavor. But once again, the sides were lacking. The waffle was another tasteless flour cake and the wild rice was missing the roasted tomato and chilis. It was just rice, not so wild.

I will give very high marks for service. Very fast, friendly and attentive. Our waiter Kerry was spot on. Perfect pacing of the courses, always there at just the right time, and went out of his way to make the evening memorable.

I would definitely try this place again, perhaps suggest only that they kick the flavor up a notch just for me.
